Link Building Tips that Work

You might recall that I’ve written a Link Building 101 article not so long ago. Since then, I’ve had quite a few people asking me for link building tips, advice, tricks, etc. I’ll tell you now: I’m not the one to ask. I have ideas about it, of course, but my methods don’t work for everyone, in fact, they’re limited to those in the technical arena of web development. Help is on the way though!

Link Building Tips from Eric Ward

LinkMoses Private - Link Building Tips that WorkThere are a couple of guys out there who do have link building tips, tricks and ideas that might save your life. One guy, that’s been doing this for ages, literally since before Google existed, in fact, since before the Yahoo! Directory existed, is my good friend Eric Ward. We started calling him LinkMoses, because he’s just that old. Sorry Eric, it’s true.

Here’s the thing: Eric is giving away (well, selling, more on that later) tips, in a program he calls “LinkMoses Private“. After 16 years of blogging (and I might persuade him to do a guest post here sometime in the future), he’s gone for a paid program and if you’re serious about link building, I think you should subscribe. The cost? A mere $8 a month.

That, my friends, is hilariously little money. If you get one good link a year out of what he sends you, it’ll have been worth it. I’ve been following for a while now, and he has sent various “Link Opportunity Alerts” that I could use for my clients. Not “general advice” but specific sites to target for specific types of websites. Good solid links, with great instructions on how to get them. These are not paid links, they’re awesome link opportunities that don’t cost money!

I’ve subscribed for less than 2 months, because he’s been going for less than two months, and already, I’ve gotten several links out of the link building tips. Now you see why I think all of you, should go and subscribe. I’m not getting paid for this, if I thought his content was bad I wouldn’t share it with you. Go, subscribe, NOW!

I subscribed this month and have been enjoying Eric’s tips. Not every LOA will fit with you or a client’s needs. In that case you can always file it away for later in your email client (there is no permanent archive for these tips). He also usually puts in a small piece of advice about link-building and SEO in general, just to keep things educational.

PS: typo in first paragraph “I’ll tell of you know”

I haven’t seen you post much lately Joost. I hope that “real work” is keeping life interesting for you!

it was more that a month of vacation was keeping me from doing both work and posting ;) Fixing typo :)

Thanks, Joost. I’ve given Eric a shot. Link building is one of those sensitive areas that you want help on but wouldn’t trust anyone because of the high risk of getting screwed. My chief link building strategy to date has been article marketing, which I know works. But I’m always on a lookout for alternatives, especially those that steer clear of the shady link exchanges.

It is an honor to be mentioned on your blog, Joost. I greatly appreciate your kind words. LinkMoses Private is off to a great start.

  4. SebastianBy Sebastian on 23 August, 2011

Seems interesting, will check it out. 8$ sounds like a great deal!

  5. EdBy Ed on 23 August, 2011

What a great opportunity. Thanks for informing us Joost. Eric is a legendary link builder, just reading the name Eric Ward alone is a guarantee that such links are not rubbish.
So I am sure a mere $8 is very much worth for everyone who decides to have a very good permanent link.

  6. MercerBy Mercer on 23 August, 2011

I decided to take advantage of Eric’s offer as well. I mean, $8 is hard to pass up for the advice of an industry leader. :)

I signed up a couple of weeks ago after seeing a tweet from Joost. Very good actionable content. I am a big fan of Erics attitude towards link building and the way he presents the content.

  8. AzzamBy Azzam on 23 August, 2011

Just subscribed and got an email. Did confirm a few things for me so pleased with the subscription. Like others the content may not be for my client but that saying there is a lesson to be learnt about how where the links come from and how to apply that elsewhere.

  9. Eric WardBy Eric Ward on 23 August, 2011

Thank you Azzam – Because there are so many potential verticals, the Link Opportunity Alerts will by necessity cover a wide range, and as you said, not every one will be pursuable by every reader. That’s partly why I priced it so low, and also why I make sure to include tips, advice, and short videos (MosesMovies) which make you feel that much more like you are getting private inside info, whcih you are. My goal is to provide useful enough content to you overall that even if not evey Link opportunity Alert is a match for you, at $8, with the other info I provide, you’ll find LinkMoses Private to be worth it. And just in case it isn’t, tell me, and I’ll send the $8 back to you.

I’m (besides Dutch) new to this stuff. Isn’t better that I gain links that are Dutch languaged? I mean: can this be beneficial for non-English folks?

Very interesting, i will check this out! Thanx for the tip!

OK, so on the strength of my web developer and his trust in Yoast, I’ve just signed up to Eric. Eric, I hope you post info that an IT dullard like me can follow! Simple sentences, simple actions etc.

As a photographer I’m really hoping that you can help me here in the UK.

  16. Eric WardBy Eric Ward on 25 August, 2011

Thank you Paul. You should have just received the first five LinkMosesPrivate posts. Hope you find them helpful.

      Excellent offer.

  23. Jared PomrankyBy Jared Pomranky on 26 August, 2011

I’m constantly building links for my websites and clients (multiple industries). Finding more link opportunities is invaluable. I just registered and can’t wait to get the next email. $8 is a no-brainer.

  24. Cooking classesBy Cooking classes on 27 August, 2011

It was a surprised to me, when I learned about your link building technique as well as the price.

  25. Eric WardBy Eric Ward on 27 August, 2011

If you signed up via Amazon, you can cancel via the link at the bottom of any of the private posts. If you signed up via paypal, you can cancel via your paypal account. You can cancel any time. And if you ever have problems, just email me privately. Letterly is a fantastic and elegantly simple way to publish private content. If any of you signed up and did not receive a long welcome email which contained the 5 previous posts, let me know. – Eric

Thanks for your advice. I will check out Link Moses-I love the name!

  30. MichaelBy Michael on 30 August, 2011

I think I’ll have to check it out. I’m typically wary of these type of programs that claim to provide high quality links, but Eric seems to have the credentials to back up his claims (the fact that you endorse him tells me a lot).

  31. Gijs BodenstaffBy Gijs Bodenstaff on 2 September, 2011

Eric ward is really the guy who understands what it is to do responsible link building. We are subscribed to his private Link Moses and are using Adgooroo software (link Insight) very useful if you take link building seriously.

$8 sounds like a great deal, specially for a student like myself. just a quick question, will this be beneficial for someone who runs small videogame-related blogs?
