You can download a Google Docs file compatible with WordPress by going to Options and clicking Download for WordPress. In your WordPress Dashboard, then go to Tools. Here, go to Import, then Run Importer, and upload your Google Docs XML file. Your file will be available as a draft post under Posts.

The uploaded Yoast SEO Google Docs add-on XML file will show in WordPress as a draft. You will need to publish or schedule it through WordPress.

We recommend using a specialized import plugin with update capabilities, such as WP All Import. This type of plugin will allow you full control over the import process. The standard WordPress import functionality may not work as expected and skip importing or create a duplicate post, instead of updating the existing content.
Common errors
The Yoast SEO Google Doc add-on does not analyze my language
Please check that you’ve set the correct language in your Google Docs document. Go to File and check under Language what language you’ve selected. You can also find this information in the Yoast SEO Google Docs add-on under the Analysis language feature. The interface will always be in English.
I cannot download my Yoast SEO Google Doc add-on file
Please refresh the page first to re-establish the connection. If the error persists, contact the support team.
The formatting in WordPress is different from theYoast SEO Google Doc add-on
If you upload the add-on XML file to WordPress, some of the formatting may change. You can find how content changes in the table below.

The Yoast SEO Google Doc add-on does not analyze my content
The add-on only provides feedback if you have a stable internet connection. Please check your connection. If your internet connection is stable, restart the analysis. You can manually restart the analysis by going to Options and clicking Manually re-run analyses.
I don’t see SEO suggestions
There are several reasons why you might not see SEO suggestions. Please check if the following conditions are met.
You are connected to the Internet. The add-on provides real-time analysis, so you must have an internet connection to use it.
You have validated your email account. If you’re using one email address to log in to MyYoast and another to work with the Yoast SEO Google Docs add-on, you’ll receive an email to validate your account.
You have logged in to the correct Google account. Google allows multiple email accounts for the same profile, but the add-on will only work for the default account. Please set the email address used to purchase the add-on as the primary/default.
Your subscription has not expired. If your subscription has expired, renew it to use the add-on.
Your MyYoast and Google accounts are linked. In MyYoast, under Subscriptions, check that the correct email address is connected.
I see the error Access revoked
This error means that you don’t have the rights to use the add-on. In MyYoast, under Subscriptions, check what Google account is connected. Link the correct account to restore your access.
I see the error Subscription expired
This error means that your subscription is no longer valid. Renew your subscription.
I see the error Email validation pending
This error means that your email address hasn’t been verified. If you’re using one email address to log in to MyYoast and another to work with the add-on, you’ll receive an email to validate your account. Complete the steps in the email to validate your account.
I see the error Authorization failed
This error means that multiple Google accounts were detected. You can only use the add-on with the default Google account. You can also solve this by using the add-on in incognito mode.
