Social previews visualize what your post ‘snippet’ will look like when shared on social media. You can see right away if your image fits and whether your title and description will display well. This way you’ll see exactly what your potential visitors see!
Why should I optimize my social snippets?
Optimizing your social snippets makes them stand out from other posts on social media. It’s a quick and easy way to generate more clicks.
✅ Make your social posts look more attractive
Different platforms ask for different types, shapes and sizes of content. With social previews in Yoast SEO Premium, you can optimize your social posts to make them as attractive as possible for your potential visitors. You change the image, title and description for both Facebook and Twitter. We keep track of and handle all of the details for you!
✅ Stand out from standard social posts
Previewing your social posts and optimizing them is a simple opportunity to stand out from automatically generated content. You can create images that you use specifically on social media, that are different from your featured image.
Also, on Twitter, the default layout is just a plain old ‘summary’ card. We let you select “Summary with large image”, this is a quick and easy way to stand out from other sites!
✅ Automatically adds all Open Graph tags
Yoast SEO automatically feeds the right information to social media channels like Facebook and Twitter. It uses Open Graph tags to make your pages look awesome on social media. Open Graph tags include information on the title, type of content and the image, among others!
How do I optimize my social posts?
In the social previews tab in Yoast SEO Premium, you can see what your post will look like when shared on Facebook and Twitter. If you haven’t set a specific image, the plugin will take the featured image by default. If you don’t have a featured image, Yoast SEO Premium will take another image from your post.
You can also set a specific image so that this image is used when your post is shared on Facebook or Twitter. Both previews also have edit fields below them, allowing you to change the individual Facebook and Twitter metadata (title and description). You can optimize these purely for your social media, as this title and description don’t have to be as optimized for SEO as your post’s SEO title and meta description.
