Two new plugins

I love you all, my dear readers! Some of you are sending in some great ideas for plugins, and I’ve coded two of them. First, Michael Gray requested in this blogpost that someone built a plugin to automatically add your Amazon affiliate ID to Amazon links. I’ve done that. It’s called Amazon Auto Affiliate Linker, enjoy!

Then Boris Veldhuijzen van Zanten, the creator of the oh so wonderful Twittercounter, pinged me, and asked if I could make a simple plugin to add Apple Touch Icons to your blog. I’ve done that, added the option to add favicons too, and here it is: blog icons!

Both plugins will probably have some updates in the coming time, feel free to comment with your ideas below!

    Yoast,

If there is any way to determine if a Blog you are viewing has do-follow enabled comments, say by hovering the mouse pointer over an area, that would make a great plugin.

    My two cents. Thanks.

    Yes Joost,

I am dreaming about a plugin, another Amazon plugin but kindly special… In case you interested send me a mail but I am afraid my dream plugin is far too complicated even not possible. And I am too shy to look ridiculous here!

By the way I would like to read on your website what your Amazon Affiliate Linker exactly is, for you installing another plugin is piece of cake, but for me oei !!! Maybe your other plugins are great but your description is so techie, I just do not understand. Looking forward to send you more details.

    Joost,

You are the man with the plan. That amazon linker is such a great idea.

@ Justin – I have to check that out. I’ve heard about it, but don’t have it installed on my main blog.

The more and more I stop by this site, the move I love it.

    Good stuff!

@ Joost – I just noticed the comment submit forwarded to a thank you page with RSS subscribe, what a great Idea. Where could I find a tutorial on how to accomplish this, or if you have the time put up a little something something.

    Many thanks.

    yeez joost,
you ARE already the Plugin Master, but now you let the competition far behind.
    Thanks for these wonderful plug-ins.

Can I persuade you to look into the possibilities to write a plug in like the amazon one, but then for the eBay ePN network?

    Thanks as always

    Dennis

@Elijah, it is a Firefox plugin not a WordPress plugin BTW.

nice! It would be sweet if there were a Firefox plug in that would create an amazon affiliate direct link WHILE you were looking the product in question on Amazon.com. It would make quick recommendations easy to monetize.

    Have you seen this?

    Hey Joost-

Quick question on the Amazon plugin, does ti work for all PHP sites or just WP? I haven’t run it by my PHP guy yet so forgive me if it is blatantly obvious in the code. I’m the marketing guy ;)
    Thanks

Great idea for the Amazon plug. It didn’t work for me the first time I used it, but then I realized that Amazon links in blog entries require a trailing slash or else they won’t parse correctly when the plug-in does it’s thing.

Am I alone on this or is this a known issue?

I would like to know about your Amazon Auto Affiliate Linker, how is it working out?
