OFAC Regulations
Yoast needs to comply with regulations of the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of Treasury (OFAC).
The OFAC administers and enforces economic and trade sanctions based on US foreign policy and national security goals against targeted foreign countries and regimes, terrorists, international narcotics traffickers, those engaged in activities related to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and other threats to the national security, foreign policy or economy of the United States.
OFAC publishes lists of individuals and companies owned or controlled by, or acting on behalf of, targeted countries. OFAC also lists individuals and groups (such as terrorists and narcotics traffickers) designated under programs that are not country-specific.
Due to this, Yoast may not do business with, receive payment from or provide services to:
- Individuals or entities located in Prohibited Countries/Regions.* Prohibited countries/regions are listed on the website of the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
- Individuals or entities* that are on the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List (SDN-List).
*be aware that the Prohibited Countries/Regions/Individuals/Entities are subject to change at any time.
You can find more information on the website of the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
