How to change your WordPress homepage type

In this article, we’ll explain how to change your WordPress homepage type. WordPress has two options for your homepage type:

Your latest posts
Static

If your homepage is set to ‘Your latest posts’, WordPress displays a list of your most recent posts on the homepage of your site. This list of posts is automatically updated as soon as you publish new posts. You don’t have to create this page yourself, WordPress creates this list automatically. Your homepage can also be ‘static’. This means there’s a specific page used as the homepage of the site, which you have to create yourself.

To change your WordPress homepage type, follow the steps below.

Log in to your WordPress website.
When you’re logged in, you will be in your ‘Dashboard’.
Click ‘Settings’ in the menu.
On the left-hand side, you will see the admin menu. In that menu, click on ‘Settings’.
Click ‘Reading’.
The ‘Settings’ menu will expand providing you additional options. Click on ‘Reading’.
Select one of the options of ‘Your homepage displays’.
You can select ‘Your latest posts’ or ‘A static page’. If you select ‘A static page’, you’ll get the option to select which page you want to use as your homepage, and which page you want to use to display your posts.
