Muhammad Yeasin receives the Yoast Care fund for his contribution to the WordPress community

Recipient:
Muhammad Yeasin

Nominated by:
Ahmed Kabir Chaion

Meet Muhammad Yeasin, a valued member of the WordPress Community Team! His commitment and valuable contributions to the community are why Ahmed Kabir Chaion nominated him for the Yoast Care fund. Let’s learn more about this passionate WordPress enthusiast.

Nominator Ahmed Kabir Chaion: “Mohammad Yeasin has been contributing to WordPress since 2020. His journey began with translation, and in 2020, he translated over 10K strings. He was also an organizer of WordCamp NEO 2021 (online) and volunteered at WordCamp Asia 2023. He has served as the Venue Team Lead for WordCamp Dhaka 2025. Despite losing his job in July 2025, Yeasin stayed committed and doubled down on his contributions to the WordPress Community. I witnessed firsthand how difficult it has been for Yeasin to continue in his role for WordCamp Dhaka 2025. He has not complained about the difficulties over the past 4 months; instead, he joined the Make WordPress Accessible Team and volunteered to serve as a Team Rep for 2025-2026.

However, he has always remained humble, asking his peers to wait for more meaningful contributions to validate his achievements and to stay true to the open-source spirit of giving back to the WordPress ecosystem. Muhammad is a genuine human being who doesn’t prefer the spotlight. He has been actively supporting the Dhaka WordPress Meetup chapter even before he joined the leadership team. He is also one of the organizers of WordPress Campus Connect Dhaka 2025. The Yoast Care recognition is the first of many recognitions to come in the near future as Yeasin begins his journey as one of the Lead Organizers of WordCamp Dhaka 2026!

Let’s get to know Muhammad Yeasin

That’s quite an introduction, Ahmed! We would love to get to know Muhammad even better. That’s why we asked him some questions about his work and his passion for WordPress:

Hi, Muhammad! What do you do?

Previously, I worked as a Partnerships and Affiliate Manager at BuddyBoss and as a Business Development Manager at weDevs. During this time, I gained experience in the WordPress ecosystem, including product knowledge, networking, and community involvement.

Currently, I work as a Product Marketing Manager at WriteRush.ai, where I oversee the entire product marketing process. My role includes marketing and building the WriteRush brand globally. I also support the team by helping them onboard into the WordPress community, guiding them on how to contribute to the ecosystem, and connecting them with a strong global network.

Why do you think that you got nominated?

I believe I was nominated because of my consistent efforts and contributions to the WordPress ecosystem, both locally and globally. I began contributing to WordPress during the pandemic in 2020, my contribution journey was with translations.

After that, I gradually expanded my contributions in many ways, including photos, core contributions, and helping restructure the Dhaka WordPress Meetup. When I learned that anyone can help make a WordCamp successful from anywhere in the world, I applied to become an organiser for WordCamp NEO 2021 online and successfully fulfilled my role.

Since then, I have volunteered at multiple WordCamps and contributed several times as a Table Lead at Contributor Days. I also served as a Venue Lead at WordCamp Dhaka 2025. In addition, I have been actively involved in various community activities and events, including Meetup, Translation Day, the Make WordPress Accessible Team, and WordPress Campus Connect.

Why did you start contributing? Could you share your first contribution with us?

I was inspired by attending WordCamp Kolkata in 2019. After returning from the event, I met Ahmed Kabir Chaion, who became my colleague, friend, and mentor. Together, we started learning about WordPress contributions and how to get involved in the community.

Outside our regular office hours, we often discussed how we could contribute meaningfully to WordPress and help build a strong future for the next generation. At the beginning, everything felt very difficult to me because I did not have clear guidelines or instructions.

When the pandemic started, I began contributing to WordPress translations under Ahmed’s guidance. Both of us translated hundreds of thousands of strings in multiple languages. My real contribution journey started during that pandemic period.

What motivated and inspired me the most was realising that WordPress never removes any contribution. Every single contribution stays forever. I also met with many kind and helpful people around the world who are always willing to share their time and knowledge without expecting anything in return. This made me realise how amazing and welcoming the WordPress community truly is.

What would you love to do in the future?

In the future, I want to build a stronger and supportive community, especially in Dhaka and beyond. The goal is not only to encourage people to contribute to WordPress individually, but also to build a community that continues to develop contributors who can make meaningful, consistent contributions to the WordPress ecosystem.

I also want to get deeply involved in the WordPress Campus Connect program to support and guide students. I also want to help them learn about WordPress, get involved in contributing, and introduce them to the beautiful global community that is waiting for them.

Who is your WordPress mentor?

Ahmed Kabir Chaion, WordPress Contributions Lead at Hosting.com and Rocket.net, has been a key mentor in my WordPress journey.

I would also like to give a big thank you to one of the Lead Organizers of WordCamp Dhaka 2025, Mainul Kabir Aion, CMO at Roxnor. He has been a strong source of motivation and support. His encouragement to attend WordCamp Kolkata 2019 and WordCamp Dhaka 2019 was very important for my continued involvement in the WordPress community.

In addition, I would like to sincerely thank Tareq Hasan, Founder and CTO of weDevs, and Nizam Uddin, Co-founder and CEO of weDevs. They saw my potential, helped me build a career in the WordPress ecosystem, and showed me the right path forward. Their guidance on joining WordPress meetups helped me become more active and engaged in the community.

Where may people find you? Online, WordCamps, other meetups?

You can find me at different WordCamps around the world. If my visa is approved, I plan to attend WordCamp Asia in 2026.
I am also very active on platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, and X.

I would love to connect with you!
