Let’s get to know Diana Tupas

Those are some lovely words by Aditya. Let’s get to know Diana a bit better and ask her some questions about her work and passion for WordPress:

What do you do in the WordPress space?

I design and develop pixel-perfect WordPress websites for businesses of all sizes. What I enjoy most is helping businesses become visible online and seeing their brands flourish. I am thankful for the passionate community that builds and sustains WordPress, and I give back by supporting WordCamps, contributing, and engaging in local meetups.

How did you first discover WordPress, and why did you start contributing?

I first discovered WordPress in 2018 when I co-designed my local community’s first WordCamp event. I did not fully realize it at the time, but that experience opened the door to a world where design, technology, and community came together. As I grew in the industry, I fell in love with how WordPress empowers anyone, regardless of background or limitations, to create something meaningful.

I started contributing because I wanted to help and give back to the digital world by making it more accessible and inclusive. The WordPress community gave me confidence, a sense of belonging, and room to grow. Contributing through design, events, or community felt like the best way to return that kindness.

I am especially thankful to Yoast SEO for their commitment to the WordPress community. In gratitude, I will pass the kindness forward by donating my Yoast Care Fund to selected animal shelters in my city.

What excites you most about WordPress?

What excites me most about WordPress is the freedom it gives people to create, grow, and be seen, regardless of their background in tech or skill level in development.

I love how a simple tool can empower local businesses, uplift communities, and even change someone’s life by opening doors to new skills and opportunities. The collaborative spirit of the WordPress community, where people help each other, teach, and build together, continues to inspire me every day. WordPress is not just software. It is a movement that shows technology can be inclusive, empowering, and human.

What advice would you give to someone just starting with WordPress?

WordPress is one of the best places to learn by doing. Explore themes, play with layouts, and experiment with plugins so you can understand how everything connects.

Most importantly, do not try to learn alone. The WordPress community is one of the most welcoming spaces in tech. Join meetups, attend WordCamps, ask questions, and connect with people who were beginners once as well. Take your time, keep creating, and remember that every website you build, no matter how simple, makes you better than you were yesterday.

Where can people connect with you? Online, at WordCamps, or other meetups?

People can connect with me online at dianatupas.com, where I share WordCamp talks, design insights, and resources. I am also active in the community, attending meetups, volunteering, and currently organizing WordCamp Asia 2026 in Mumbai, India. I love meeting fellow WordPress enthusiasts, sharing ideas, and learning from others.
