Code of Conduct

Purpose

Team Yoast is committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, and/or appearance. This code of conduct outlines our expectations for behavior exhibited by employees and participants of our events and the consequences of unacceptable behavior. We invite all employees and event participants to help us realize a safe and positive working experience for everyone.

Expected behavior

  • Be considerate, respectful, and collaborative.
  • Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory or harassing behavior and speech.
  • Be mindful of your surroundings and other people. Alert the relevant people if you notice a dangerous situation or someone in distress.

Unacceptable behavior

Unacceptable behaviors are intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory or demeaning conduct behavior at work or work-related events. This includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, age and/or appearance; deliberate intimidation, stalking or following; bullying; harassing photography or recording without consent; sustained disruption of talks or other events; profanity, excessive alcohol consumption, drug use, inappropriate physical contact, inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces; and unwelcome sexual attention.

Consequences of unacceptable behavior

Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated. Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. Complaints about undesirable behavior will be treated seriously and adequately by the ET/LT. Appropriate sanctions shall be imposed if necessary.

What to do if you witness or are subject to unacceptable behavior

If you are subject to unacceptable behavior, notice that someone else is being subject to unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns, please notify a person of trust or a Yoast employee at an event. They are here to provide support and assist those experiencing unacceptable behavior in creating safety and addressing the issue.

Scope

We expect all event participants (sponsors, volunteers, speakers, attendees, and other guests) and Yoast employees to abide by this code of conduct at all conference venues, conference-related social events, and in the work environment.
