Hugo de Vos

I studied Linguistics at the Radboud University in Nijmegen. During my study of Linguistics, I specialized in Language and Speech technology. I am enthusiastic about everything with language and/or computers.

After my studies I went for a PhD at Leiden University in the Hague. My research was about how Natural Language Processing techniques can be employed for studying the politics of the European Union. For example, In mij latest project I studied how to optimize Automatic Speech Recognition software for transcribing meetings of the EU parliament, which is a big challenge due to the many accents as well as very specific words.
