This is a guide on how to install the GA eCommerce Tracking for EDD plugin.
Please note that you need to have the Easy Digital Downloads (EDD) plugin and our Google Analytics for WordPress plugin installed for this plugin.
As soon as you’ve bought the plugin from us, you’ll receive an email with a link to the plugin files and your license key. This email will look something like this:
Keep your license key from the purchase email handy and also, you need to have downloaded the .zip file. Leave this file zipped!
The first thing you need to do is login to your WordPress website. You’ll end up in your ‘Dashboard’, with a menu on the left-hand side. Next, click on ‘Plugins’. This item will then be highlighted and your current plugins will be shown in a list. You can now also check here if you actually have the Easy Digital Downloads plugin and the Google Analytics for WordPress plugin installed. If not, install them (or one of them) first.
If they are installed, click the ‘Add New’ button in the left hand menu. On that page, click ‘Upload’, as shown in this picture:
Click the ‘Choose File’ button and navigate to the folder where you downloaded the zipped file to. Select the .zip file and click ok. When you have found the right file, it should look like the picture below, after which you can click the ‘Install Now’ button, which I’ve highlighted for you:
When you’ve done that, you’ll be taken to the following page, after which you have to activate our plugin (see picture):
The plugin is now installed! However, before you can use its functionality, you’ll have to enter the license key from the purchase email. Click ‘Downloads’ in the left hand side > ‘Settings’ and then click the tab ‘Licenses’. This will show you an area in which you can enter your license key:
When you’ve entered the license key correctly hit ‘Save Changes’. After that, the page should look like this (notice the ‘Deactivate License’ button appeared):
And that’s it! You’ve now installed and activated your GA eCommerce Tracking for EDD plugin! Congratulations!
You can now very easily find your eCommerce tracking in your Google Analytics under Conversions > Ecommerce in the Google Analytics menu:
