SEO Plugin for WordPress
Just a short note, to let you know that next wednesday, I'll be releasing an SEO plugin for WordPress. It's not the life changing best plugin ever, no, it's a reasonably small thing, that will make your post slugs much cleaner, and do so automatically.
Now here's the funny thing. There's only one way to get it. Subscribe to my WordPress newsletter. I hope you're going to be among the people I can e-mail this wednesday!

Oh, sounds like newsletter blackmailing! :)
Joost de Valk Sep 22nd, 2008 at 18:08
@Anne Helmond: So sue me :P

@Joost: Something like the SEO Slugs plugin, but with more configuration settings? I am already on your list so I will be waiting...
Joost de Valk Sep 22nd, 2008 at 18:15
More functions, not more settings :)

I tried to sign up but I got an error. Maybe I am already signed up? I don't recall ever getting a newsletter though! I always meant to sign up!
" Notice:

Please sign me up!

I'm not going to subscribe to a newsletter just to get a plugin. Sounds like an interesting one, though. :(
Joost de Valk Sep 23rd, 2008 at 06:20
@Kristi: Fixed the error, my bad! Sorry!

Sounds interesting. Although I am already using a SEO plugin I might be interested in something different as this plugin seems to have problems with your Meta robots plugin. So Iam looking foreward to next wednesday.

Oh man! I wish i'd thought of asking people to subscribe / follow / sign-up to get one of my Firefox plugins. That's a great idea. :)
Looking forward to hearing more about this - - and how it's different / compatible with the other SEO type plugins I'm using.

Can you tell us what sets your upcoming SEO plugin apart (i.e. features/benefits) from the plugins listed below please? Thanks Joost!
1. HeadSpace 2
2. All-in-One SEO
3. WP SEO Master
4. WordPress Tweaks
Joost de Valk Sep 24th, 2008 at 06:53
@Stuart | Design Meme: Good huh? :)
@Kevin: It does something completely different, it just makes sure slugs don't get awfully long.

Could you write a post comparing your SEO plugin to All-in-One SEO? Most of the SEOs I know use that particular plugin. Quasi-geeks like myself rely on someone else to install and maintain our plugins so we have to present a business case for changing or adding something new. I'd be very interested in reading it and sending visitors your way to check out your blog.
I found you while researching for my series defining the perfect WordPress blog theme. I'm open to input, especially from coders and those with expertise in writing plugins and designing themes.

Joost de Valk Oct 9th, 2008 at 09:20
@Amit: yes it's launched, you can get it by signing up for the newsletter :)
