Plugin updates: Google Analytics and Sociable
Because of a few bugreports I had to fix some stuff in the Google Analytics plugin, as well as change the directory structure so it would work with the automatic update. Next to that I've also updated Sociable to include Wikio and Blogsvine, enjoy!

Hey Joost,
I'm still having the issue with the e-mail links and outbound link tracking (I think that's what's causing). I'm not sure if this is one of the issues that you looked at, but I still can't figure it out.
I altered an old post to change it back to how it was originally published (when I first discovered the problem), and I'm still getting text repeating, links pointing to the wrong place, and links with ') at the end of the url.
Any thoughts?

Sorry but something doesn't work properly...
First, when I installed the version 2.5.2 what happened was the contents of all comments disappeared! I figured the cause for this was the new Analytics plugin so I removed it, put version 2.5.0 back in and the contents of all comments were back again. Fortunately...
Then with version 2.5.3, suddenly my number of visitors drops dramatically when I look inside my Analytics account. Meaning, it goes down by approx. 70%!
Hope it gets fixed soon because I really love your plugin!
By the way, is it on purpose that the new plugin package does not have a "gapp" folder anymore? I'm asking because, in the instructions, it asks me to remove the "gapp" folder from my plugin directory (why?) and then to upload the new "gapp" folder to it (but there is no such).

Hi Joost,
Thanks for last in Iceland :-)
Your GA and Blog Metrics plugins are great. They should be implemented as standard features in WordPress!

@Ólafur Örn Nielsen: thx, hope to see you in Iceland again next year :)

I don't know what I can do to solve this... it's not tracking anymore. Normally, there should be the Google Analytics code in the header when activating your plugin and being logged out of WordPress, but it's not there. Even when I check the box that says "Track the admin too" it does not show up.
So perhaps another plugin "removes" that code? But I use the same plugins like before. Nothing new.
Can you help, please? What could be the cause for the code not showing up?
Thanks in advance.

Got it solved...
It was that I removed the [?php wp_head(); ?] tag because, for security reasons, I wanted to avoid WordPress displaying its own version. But that removed the GA code, too.
:-(

And more plugins rely on the wp_head call to be there... There are other ways to disable the version display :)

Joost, some bag with track_adsense function. Add please global $pluginpath;

For Joost...have you seen my modded version. There are only 6 more icon and social.

Any idea when the update will be ready? I'm having the same problem with adsense clicks not being tracked.

The Sociable plugin is definitely one of the most useful tools around. Clearly has to be standard in new WP releases. Thanks for the great work Joost.

Love this plugin, very useful. Just one question... Is there a way I can manually place the code that generates the list? On my single.php page the sociable list falls between the end of and the beginning of my postmeta. I would like it to fall below my postmeta.
Can this be done?
Thanks
Karl

I have installed it today but I am not able to see the adsense clicks while I know I had some.
by James on 7 July, 2008 at 15:43
Thanks for the great tools!
The ga plugin generates 404 errors, showing that adsense-track.js can't be found. is there a way to fix this? i'm sure it's something to do with permissions or not getting the directory name correctly from wordpress.

Hey Joost, I was wondering how can I add the sociable location in my single.php so it works? I should like to add an rss sentence at the end of each post. But the sociable still seems to be on top of that, which I'd like to have below. Thanks a lot for your input!
