MSN launches Dutch Digg clone, but forgets spam prevention
Recently (I honestly don't know when), MSN launched a Digg clone in the Netherlands, called MSN reporter. You can submit your story, and others can vote for it or against it. The top stories go to the MSN.nl homepage. Now the boys at MSN haven't really thought this through, as they store what stories you've voted on in... your cookie-jar! So, deleting your cookie allows you to vote again, and even better, rejecting your cookie alltogether, allows you to vote as much as you like...
To make things even worse, you can vote, or "kick" in their terminology, for a story by simply calling a URL...
Now of course you can script this, which I did:
<?php
$i = 1;
while ($i < 1000) {
file_get_contents("< kick-url >");
echo $i;
$i++;
}
?>I ran this script for a few seconds, and before I knew it, the story was on the MSN.nl homepage...
Now come on MSN, you can do way better than that!

Why Yoast is so speedy
Finding the WordPress hosting solution that's right for your site isn't easy. Trust me, I learned the hard way. You've probably noticed it though: yoast.com loads pretty darn fast.
That's because it's hosted on a VPS.net Cloud Server, and our static content is being served by MaxCDN: a huge network of content servers around the world.
Combined, it's the perfect hosting solution for this site. Let my experience help you find the best WordPress hosting solution for your site!

Mmmmm.... I would also expect that MSN would think this through a bit more smart. A shame they didn't.. You've got my vote for Digg :-)

I didn't notice it before. Not the worst place to get your feed syndicated :-)

I think they weren't able to fix to problem and decided to take the site down. MSN Reporter now redirects to http://nl.msn.com/ ...

Joost
");
echo $i;
$i++;
}
?>
