I’m enjoying SMX with my colleagues Evert, Nina and Roy. The presentations went well, and the off-conference part was great too. Refined Labs, Thomas Bindl’s outfit, threw a great party yesterday evening, while launching their new bid management tool Refined Ads, which looked pretty damn good!
Nina had a well attended presentation yesterday, and she got some great feedback on her presentation. The session after that was mine, together with my buddy Mediadonis and Thomas Promny. It was a pretty good session, although I think my presentation was a bit too high level for some people… Here are the slides:
This morning’s session was again with “der Mediadonis” and Volker Ballueder of WebCertain. This session was pretty cool with some great conversation about whether companies should be blogging or not. I talked about improving the conversation on your blog, and here are the slides for that containing 10 steps to improve the conversation on your blog:

Those are some great tips about keeping the conversation going on your blog. It’s important to remember that everything online is interconnected; consequently, it’s important that people treat their blog like others look at it — because they do! Success online comes when other people are interested in what you’re doing, and making them part of the action (by keeping a conversation going on your blog) makes it more beneficial for them. Getting that intrinsic motivation for people is a good way to keep them coming back. :)
Thanks for the slide shows Joost. It’s an sober vision you brought me. Fresh, simple and understandable. It makes me think in a different way, and it feels like the right way.
Interesting slideshow about keeping the conversations going. Maybe we should talk about one day over a cup of coffee?
@morgan & laurens: thx :)
@ernst-jan: sounds like a plan! drop me an email with some dates.
Hello All,
That is great, like the embedded presentation, Joost.
Was good meeting you all in Munich and think the discussion went very well. Got a lot of feedback from it afterwards, people asking on how to use blogs successful on PR ,-)
Wanted to add that, according to our discussion, that blogs are a great “PR tool”, however, if you just channel your “normal PR” through it, you won’t get the results you are hoping for.
If anyone likes my presentation, please email me on volker@webcertain.com!
Cheers
See you soon!
Hi Joost,
thanks for your post on my resumé to SMX in Munich.
Your presentations were just great. See you next year!
