More nice plugin news: Customize your community

This will come as no surprise to those subscribed to my WordPress newsletter, but Sugarrae has just released the great Customize Your Community plugin we've developed together!
This plugin allows you to force the login, register and profile pages of your blog to use your blog's current theme instead of the WordPress look and feel!

    SEO Plugin for WordPress

Just a short note, to let you know that next wednesday, I'll be releasing an SEO plugin for WordPress. It's not the life changing best plugin ever, no, it's a reasonably small thing, that will make your post slugs much cleaner, and do so automatically.
Now here's the funny thing. There's only one way to [...]

    Submit your website? My ass.

So I just got an email from "Paul" of http:// www. TrafficGeneratorSite.com/ (no linklove whatsoever there). He said he "really liked my website" and was "Wondering if you would like to post my site banner on your website - I pay 30% commision for life for the revenue you generate."
Now I'm not the guy who [...]

    Back in business!

So, I'm back! After twelve days of honeymoon on lovely lovely Rhodes, of which a couple of pics can be found on my Flickr, I've decided that yes, I need a better camera. If any of you have good advice on what I should buy as my first SLR, let me know. If you want [...]

Measuring SEO: why rankings are worthless

While Joost is enjoying his well deserved honeymoon, he asked me to do a post as guest blogger. "As long as it's anything about search", he said. Alright, that's not so hard :) I thought I'd dive into the discussion of search engine rankings and what the value is in SEO. To match the style [...]

    Just Married!

Just before we go off on our honeymoon, 12 days on lovely Rhodes, I wanted you all to know that last friday, the 29th of August, I got married to my lovely Marieke!

We had an awesome day, and as you can see, Marieke looked absolutely stunning!
If you want something to read in the meanwhile, [...]

    SEO Link Analysis 1.0.4

Yahoo released the new SiteExplorer, which forced me to fix the SEO Link Analysis extension, which now works again with Yahoo's new interface (it won't work on the old one anymore).
Microsoft has also updated their webmaster portal, I'm currently figuring out how to include that again, but have for now disabled it. So go check [...]

    Improved WordPress Breadcrumbs

I love how open source works. I released an early version of my breadcrumbs plugin, and I got some great feedback from all of you here on the blog and in the blogosphere!
For instance, Damon Gudaitis of Life With Beer asked if I could build in support for category parents. I didn't think about [...]

    Breadcrumbs in WordPress

Historically, blogs, and thus WordPress, have never had breadcrumbs. There's hardly any theme that has them built in, and though there were some breadcrumb plugins for WordPress, in my opinion, they sucked.
Breadcrumbs are a great utility, both for usability and SEO. They allow people and search engines to easily determine the structure of a domain. [...]

    WordPress plugin search

Just a quick post: as noted on the wp-hackers mailing list 2 weeks ago: the search function for plugins on wordpress.org is a pain, it doesn't work at all.
Using Google is not the easiest solution too, so I've create a Google custom search engine especially for plugins. You can find it here.
    It should provide [...]
