11Blog Metrics in WordPress
Avinash Kaushik has done an excellent post about blog metrics today, most of the stats he showed off, like unique visitors, pageviews, subscribers, etc. are ones I've been using for quite a while. There were two new "metrics" that I hadn't used as much up till now, raw author contribution and conversation rate.
Of course I [...] -

14Updated my Google Analytics plugin to track AdSense clicks
Iwan Uswak from the Data Mining Blog requested that I added Aaron's AdSense Google Analytics tracking to my Google Analytics for WordPress plugin. I emailed Aaron to ask if he had any objections to me doing that, and as expected his answer was "of course not.". So I've just updated my plugin to version 2.0, [...]

8Blogging from my phone!
I downloaded and installed Wphone yesterday, and am now trying it while I'm in the train home. I can say nothing but: wow! It's amazingly simple, you specify that you want to use the mobile interface on login and it just plain works!
Although this plugin was the result of an iPhone interface competition, it works [...]Continue reading: Blogging from my phone!

11PageRank: more valuable than ever
Now that Google has been so nice as to decrease PageRank for at least a portion of the sites they have identified as selling links, PageRank, and more importanly historical PageRank data, has become very valuable linkbuilding data.
If you know that a site has decreased in visible PageRank, are you going to buy a link [...]Continue reading: PageRank: more valuable than ever

6A del.icio.us linkstructure!
del.icio.us is showing us right now what the power of an authoritative domain, together with internal linkjuice can do to your site. More and more, I see del.icio.us ranking for pretty cool queries with their "url" pages.
For example, see these results for [iphone css3]:
The title of that page is pretty bad of course, but [...]Continue reading: A del.icio.us linkstructure!

6FeedBurner feed counts drop again... (due to FeedFetcher)
After having a drop last saturday due to issues with Google FeedFetcher, the reader count in the chicklet by FeedBurner has once again dropped hugely (I'm seeing 25-40% drops). As the FeedBurner backend hasn't updated yet there's no way to know what's causing it, but it's not a good thing if such a thing happens [...]

4Google Analytics' find function
If you use my Google Analytics WordPress plugin, or just use another javascript to add extra search engines and refine the way Analytics tracks your search referrers, you can't see the figures for for instance Google's organic search as a whole anymore.
Unless of course, you do the following:
Go to All Traffic Sources, and type the [...]Continue reading: Google Analytics' find function

25We need a Google court!
Imagine this (and no this is not based at all on any of my clients, just for the sake of this argument): you have a client who has a pitch black history in search engine optimization, his tactics ranging from "simple" cloaking to using negative links to push his competitors sites down. At one point, [...]

13SMX Stockholm, having a blast!
I've been here at SMX for the last few days and I've not been as prolific as I was last week at A4UExpo, mostly due to the fact that I'm actually talking to a lot of people and talking about loads and loads of nice stuff. Some highlights:
Yesterday morning, the session on what's new with [...]
