Blog Tag: When I'm not doing SEO...

So Barry tagged me in this new meme "When I'm not doing SEO...", which was started by Shimon Sandler, in which I should tell what I do when I'm not doing SEO... Now that's a hard one. I code a lot, and work on css3.info, but I guess that doesn't count.

Marieke van de Rakt en Tycho de ValkA lot of my time goes into my own company, AlthA Web design, in which I do some WordPress coding and web design stuff.

All the time outside of doing those things goes into my family, first and foremost my lovely Marieke van de Rakt and our son Tycho (see the picture on the right). During weekends, we usually spend a lot of time at her parents and my parents, as both of them live near by.

Lastly, I love going out for a beer with some friends, but to be honest, I've not done a lot of that lately due to an extreme workload...

Now for tagging three other SEO's (and I'll pick people who aren't at conferences this week):

SEO is so time consuming i'm amazed you have time to do anything else! I've spent hours writing articles, acquiring links and so forth for very little improvement. It could quite easily be a full time job!

Even if you use automated tools such as the Brausch system you still ned to put in hours of hard work. Shame there's no magic solution!

Cute. Always nice to have a little personal edge from the blogger.

I have 3 kids myself, and they always like to look over my shoulder when I am working on the laptop at home. They are becoming Google junkies and know some SEO basics. So far, their curiosity alone has led them to ask a lot of the right questions and they absorb terminology and tactics like a sponge.

My 8 year old son asked if I could help build a website for his 3rd grade class, and he baited me by mentioning I would get a couple of good ".edu back links" for my help... he had me on the floor rolling...but of course I WILL build the site now. Seriously - do you know how tough it is to get .edu links? ;)

What is the New York state law for hiring anyway? I have some pay per posters in 'da house and better yet - I know the formula to make more.

    :)

A shame indeed, Simon. And although I, too, use the Brausch system, I'm also still busy with a couple administrative tasks I'd love others do for me.

But there's a light at the end of the tunnel for both me and my wife... :)

If I can suggest something "fun":

Buy yourself a hoody like your son's. Put glasses on your son (or take yours off) and take a photo.

    Because the resemblance is AMAZING!

    Great looking family...
